Hulcher Performs Loading &Tie Down of Hopper Cars
Scope:
The railroad retired two hopper cars and needed a contractor to load them to a flat car for transport to the scrap yard. Hulcher Services’ Caterpillar® 572 sidebooms safely lifted the cars’ bodies and wheels and placed them on flatcars.
Solution:
Hulcher’s crew used blocks, chains and cabling to balance and tie down the hopper cars. The professional crew members were able to complete the job in accordance with AAR standards, performing the work at a busy rail yard without interfering with railroad operations.
Outcome:
The professional members of the crew were able to complete the job in accordance with AAR standards.
