Load Adjustment / Load Reduction Services

Loads can shift during transport and become hazardous on the right of way. In other instances too much product is loaded on a rail car, or the load must be reduced for other reasons.

 

Hulcher Services Inc. follows strict AAR guidelines and procedures to make sure that every load is adjusted and properly secured to minimize damage and eliminate any potential hazard. When loads must be reduced, we can remove the excess product and transfer it to another car, a disposal location or a licensed waste hauling contractor*.

Hulcher employees are experts when it comes to transferring product to/from railcars, semi trailers, trucks, grain bins and product storage facilities. Our professional crews are background-checked, have received training in railroad applications, are current in safety and security certification requirements for all Class I railroads, and have spent years perfecting their craft in railroad environments.

 

In addition, Hulcher's liability insurance policies expressly delete the usual exclusion for work within 25 or 50 feet of railroads, and include the statement "any work within 50 feet of a railroad is included."

Project Snapshot - Hulcher Excavator and Crew Perform Load Adjustment of Steel Pipes A load of steel pipes had shifted during transit and needed to be reloaded so it would be properly balanced. Hulcher Services deployed a CaterpillarŽ 325D excavator and crew.

Project Snapshot - Hulcher Forklift and Crew Perform Load Adjustment on Load of Roofing Tiles Eighteen pallets of roofing tiles on a center beam railcar shifted during transit, crushing their pallets and damaging the banding. Hulcher sent a crew of five personnel, a forklift, replacement pallets and a banding machine to remedy the problem.

Project Snapshot - Telehandler and Conveyor Perform Load Reduction of Alfalfa Pellets The railroad needed a load of alfalfa pellets to be reduced by 10,000 lbs. Hulcher deployed a CaterpillarŽ TH560B telehandler, a conveyor and a haul truck.
