The Hulcher air evacuation service is an excellent fit for work around the hump yard, railroad signals and on the right-of-way. Air excavation cleans retarders, switches and crossings, loosening mud and fouled ballast quickly and cost effectively. It is also an excellent solution for exposing underground utilities.
Air excavation works perfectly with a Guzzler® hi-rail vacuum truck, which collects the loosened debris for reuse or disposal.
What makes Hulcher’s system so versatile is the Air-Spade®, which uses a high-pressure focused flow of air to dislodge most soils, fouled ballast and compacted debris. This innovative, handheld device is no larger than a small weed trimmer and is powered by a portable air compressor.
Because it is highly mobile, the Air-Spade® is excellent for use in tunnels or remote areas with little or no off-track access and is ideal for spot undercutting to remove mud from troublesome areas.
The Air-Spade® is supported by a hi-rail vacuum truck; the truck picks up the dirt and fouled ballast loosened by the Air-Spade® to clean up the area.
The Hulcher air excavation service is the preferred choice when underground utilities could be damaged by traditional excavation techniques. Because the Air-Spade® is handheld and removes debris with air, it allows workers to expose sensitive underground wires, fiber optics or cables with greater accuracy and less risk of damage than can be achieved by standard excavation techniques.
Speed, convenience, maximum access, mobility and safety for your infrastructure - when a project requires a flexible and reliable solution, the only choice is the Hulcher air excavation service. Call 800-637-5471 and talk to one of our business professionals to learn more.
|Case Study - Forklift Ramp and Parking Lot Asphalt
The diesel shop’s loading dock allowed forklifts to bring in palletized shipments of heavy cargo such as traction motors from semi trailers to the storage sheds. Unfortunately, the shop’s dock ramp had a rough, uneven surface that added to wear and tear on forklifts and increased the risk for mishaps during transport. Additionally, the surrounding parking lots had several cracks and potholes that needed attention.
|Case Study - Air Excavation / Vacuum Truck
Chronic mud problems created potentially dangerous softness and flex in the rail for one railroad company, especially on those stretches of track that ran along a river. The situation became more dire after flooding added to the mud in these areas. Unfortunately, the steep banks on either side of the track did not permit the use of an off-track undercutter.
